PRODUCT REVIEW: The Original MakeUp Eraser

Oh my goodness….have you heard about the Original MakeUp Eraser, the 100% polyester cloth that removes your makeup with just warm water?

Just wet the cloth and remove your makeup. This includes waterproof eyeliner and mascara, HD makeup and much more.

It’s true.  I bought 3 MakeUp Erasers about a month ago and wanted to test it before writing a review and telling others.  Now, I can testify that it works as well as it claims.  In fact, I decided to be a reseller because I love it so much.

The best part is…it’s reusable. Throw it in the wash and no stains remain. The MakeUp Eraser will last up to 1,000 washes and eliminates the need to buy disposable product to remove your makeup.

And there’s the best part.  FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, we’re having a BOGO sale.  Learn more on at this link.

Check it out and let me know what questions you have.

Part 2 – Charcoal Mask from Mary Kay

You may recall my post announcing the *NEW* Clear Proof® Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask  from Mary Kay!  Now I want to share my step-by-step routine using the mask.  I have very oily skin, and the warmer months makes it even worse.  So, I’ve been looking forward to the launch of this product since announced last summer.

First, I removed my makeup from the day.  I start with the award-winning Mary Kay Oil-free Eye Makeup Remover to gently remove my mascara and eye makeup.  Be careful around your eyes, because too much tugging and scrubbing can accelerate the formation of crows feet and sagging!  Next, I use the Original MakeUp Eraser to remove the rest of my makeup.  All you need is WATER, and the makeup is gone!!  With the makeup gone, I use a pea-sized amount of my normal anti-aging cleanser to make sure my skin is prepared to fully benefit from the mask.

Now, for the Charcoal Mask!

I smooth it on with my fingers, though some use a clean foundation brush. The aroma is amazing. The extracts of rosemary and peppermint deliver a fresh scent to awaken your senses.
I leave it on for 20 minutes, and you can now see the darker areas.  This is where my larger pores are, and where the product is working the most to absorb the oils.

Lastly, I simply rinse the mask off with warm water – no peeling!  I apply my Pore Minimizer, followed by my eye cream, lifting serum, and night cream from the TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm® Set.

The next morning, my skin still looks and feels great.  I usually wake up with very oily skin.  But not this time.  And the best part, this mask is gentle enough to use every day.

Some more data from Mary Kay:

  • 79% of women and men confirmed that “skin looks clearer” after use.
  • Contains honeysuckle and navy bean extracts shown to target the appearance of skin discoloration and help soothe skin.
  • Suitable for all skin types.

I’m sold!  Let me know if you have any thoughts or want to try it.

Do you use a Face Brush?

I was in Sephora the other day and saw a sign that said — “96% of Women Experience Smoother, Healthier Looking Skin”.  The sign was in the Face Brush section.  I use a face brush and know the positive results.  With so many choices on the market,  I thought I’d share some information about them.

First, the basics — Many people think we cleanse our face to remove the dirt and makeup from the day and the oils accumulated overnight.  This is only partly true, because you also cleanse to prepare your skin for the next step in your skin care routine.  The cleaner your face, the better your skin will absorb the moisturizer, anti-aging cream, wrinkle filler, dark spot reducer, acne treatment, etc. that you apply after cleansing.  So, if you aren’t getting good results with your products, it may be because your skin isn’t absorbing the product at the level needed to make an impact.

Now, let’s look at a few brands…

Clarisonic® is the most popular brand.  They have several brushes on the market, range from $129 to $339 and usually come with one brush head.  Their brushes are rechargeable and replacement brush heads range from $27 t0 $35 each.  When purchased from the company, you have a 2 year warranty.

Note:  For best results, you should replace your brush head ever 3 months, just like your toothbrush.

Next, is Mary Kay’s Skinvigorate™ Cleansing Brush.  Priced at $50, the brush comes with 2 brushes and the 2 AA batteries needed to power the brush.  A pack of  2 replacement brush heads cost $15.   There is a Satisfaction Guarantee on all Mary Kay products when purchased from a Mary Kay representative.  Contact your representative for a full refund or replacement if you are not satisfied at any point.

Finally, the Lavo Brush had great reviews from other bloggers and is the cheapest product I’ve found.  On Amazon, it sells for less than $30 and come with 2 brushes.  Batteries are not included.  A set of 2 replacement brushes are $12.99 on Amazon.  The brush come with at 90 day warranty.

There are many other brands on the market, as a simple Google search will reveal.  Whichever brush you choose, I hope you choose!  As you contemplate, think about the following:

  1. Is waterproof a requirement?  If you don’t plan to use the brush in the tub or shower, being completely waterproof is a feature not worth paying for.
  2. What is the warranty?  If you aren’t satisfied or the product stops working, you want to be able to return it without much hassle.
  3. What are the cost of replacement brushes?  Just like a printer, the ink could cost more than a new printer after a few replacements.

Do you use a face brush?  If so, which one and how do you like it?

Product Review: Mary Kay TimeWise® Tone-Correcting Serum

Mary Kay just released their TimeWise® Tone-Correcting Serum, claiming to “significantly improve skin brightness and the look of dark spots.”  This product replaces 2 other products in the Mary Kay skin care line, the TimeWise® Even Complexion Dark Spot Reducer and the TimeWise® Even Complexion Essence.

Now, I’m a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, but I also like to try products to be able to fully endorse them to my customers.  I think you would agree that a personal testimony from your consultant carries more weight than other testimonies or vanilla marketing materials.

Well, after using this product on a scar I’M SOLD!

I had neck surgery 2 years ago, and the doctor tried to prescribe a medication that would help fade the scar.  The prescription would have costed me $100+, because it wasn’t covered by my insurance.  So, I chose to pass.

Here are my before and after pictures of the scar, after just 3 weeks of use.  I can hardly see the scar anymore.

Can you see the difference?  Like I said, I’m sold.  Especially for just $45!

Pamper Her on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day will be here soon!  Sunday, May 14th, 2017 is the big day, and it will be here before you know it!

Does your mom, wife, sister, best friend like to be pampered?  Who doesn’t?  I envision a gift basket with spa products and her favorite bottle of bubbly…  Here are my pampering product suggestions.

Look at the Bubbly Bath Candy and Cupcake Bath Bombs from Soapy Bliss.  Just drop them in the bath, and it’s instant paradise.  The Bath Candy even come in a box that looks like a box of chocolates!  How cute is that?  And the “icing” on the Cupcake Bath Bomb is actually the body scrub. Wow, ingenious!!

Soapy Bliss also has Body Butter, in flavors like Kiwi Lime, Watermelon White Rose, Pink Champagne!  They will make her skin feel amazingly renewed and hydrated.  This new forward-thinking recipe made with organic butters and oils will fast become her favorite go-to moisturizer.

From Mary Kay, the list of spa products is endless.  From Eye Treatments to Facial Masks to the Satin Hands Pampering Set, we have you covered.  If your special lady is my customer, I can even give you some hints as to what’s on her wish list!

And then there’s the Truffle Buffer!  OMGosh…Again from Soapy Bliss!  It eliminate dry skin immediately!  Just massage over your wet skin after your bath, rinse the exfoliating bits off, and pat dry.  Heaven!!

I could go on and on, but I will pause here.  If all this overwhelms you, no worries.  I can place the order for you, and if you are local to the Austin TX area, I can even put together gift baskets.

Thanks for visiting and supporting my small business!  I hope to talk to you soon!

xoxo,
Kimily

My Easter Dress

So, I’m a southern girl from Alabama, and we always got a new dress for Easter.  Since moving to Texas, I didn’t keep up the tradition as much.  Instead, I’d shop in my closet and did not necessarily buy anything new.

This year, I decided to find me a new dress!  I was draw to this “Baby Blue” dress that immediately reminded of a dress that I had as a child.  I received so many compliments that I decided to share my style details with you.

First, the DRESS.  It’s a Calvin Klein Compression Sheath Dress — “compression” means it makes your look slim (wink, wink).  I found it at Marshalls for $39.99.  When I looked online, it’s $89.98 at Macy’s!  So, I feel like I struck gold on that buy! $$$

Even at the higher price, this dress is so versatile, it is well work the money.  I added a white sweater in church because it was a bit chilly, but I envision making this dress more casual with a indigo jean jacket, like this one from Chico’s.

My SHOES are silver, and I got them from White House Black Market about 3 years ago.  They are sold out.  But I’ve see many similar styles around, like the Kain Leather Pump by Vince Camuto.  Silver shoes will go everywhere…so get you some.

For my JEWELRY, I chose to mix my metals, using silver and gold.  My necklace is from Stella & Dot, again from a couple of years ago.  Unfortunately, it’s no longer available but did a little research to find another one at Jane Stone.  I wear this necklace so many ways….from formal gowns to jeans and t-shirts.   So, it was a great investment.

My bracelet is a gift from my husband from more than 15 years ago.  It pays to invest in few prize pieces.  They may need polishing every now and then, but they never go out of style. And my ring is the Two-Tone Feather Wrap Ring, a new find from Caryne Hampton’s Chloe + Isabel Boutique.  Check out Caryne’s Online Boutique.

Finally, my make up.  You know it’s all Mary Kay!  I don’t play when it comes to my skin!  🙂  My eyeshadow is from our Fall 2016 Runway Bold collection.  I used the grey and lighter blue.  The palette is no longer available on the website, but contact me.  I have a couple that are still available.  I chose the Red Lip Liner and filled in with our Pink Wink Lip Gloss for a bit of contrast.

So, that’s me for Easter 2017, and some!  I think it’s a look that will be hot all Spring long and transfer right into Summer.

Until next time, Kimily
